Application:
Sampler for collecting bottom sediments for biological, hydrological and environmental studies.
 
Function:
As the lowering wire slackens, the hook on the release device falls down. When the wire is retrieved the grab will close and the 2 shovels are forced together, preventing any loss of sediment during the retrieval operation.

Drainage holes:
The upper side is equipped with drainage holes to allow an outflow of water and to avoid creation of a shock-wave when the grab hits the sea floor.
 
Lids:
The grab is also available with 2 lids allowing to take out some sample without emptying the grab. Ordering number 12.320.
Release mechanism:
A simple and relieable locking mechanism ensures a release as soon as the wire gets loose.
