- The corer is fully made of AISI 316 stainless steel
and electro polished.
The corer is designed for taking samples in sandy sediment.
On top of the corer body are placed 4 pcs steering fins and
it is possible to increase the weight with 8 pcs 2 kg
lead weights placed at the fins. Below the fins are
mounted
2 pcs 7 kg lead weights.

The corer tube is made of AISI 304 stainless steel. In the mouth is mounted one carver and inside there is placed an orange peel closing system (prevents the sample from
exiting).
Corer tube dimensions:
OD 60 / ID 53 mm x L = 770 mm.
PVC Plast liners dimensions:
OD 50 / ID 46 mm x 475 mm
The weight without lead weights is app: 18 kg
Total weight included lead weights: 48 kg
Total height without corer tube: 600 mm

Manual for KC-Small Gravity Corer:
To make ready before use.
- Place the upper part of the corer horizontally and insert the stainless
steel tube in the
upper part and lock.
See Fig. 1
- Insert the internal PVC liner and the orange peel
system; both are secured by screwing tight the
carver part.

- Before you ease the Gravity Corer over the rail, press the moveable part (in which the
rubber bung is
mounted) See Fig. 3 upwards until the 2 lock-arms
slide into the notch on the bar.

- The Gravity Corer is now ready for lowering
into the sea.
Removing the sample.
- Place the Gravity Corer on deck and dismount the carver and the orange
peel system. The internal PVC liner can be taken out.
- The sample in the liner can now be removed or sealed by
rubber bungs in the tube ends for later research.
