12.301 - Day Grab - 2000 cm²:

General:
The main frame, grab and releaser are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel with an electro polished surface, with overall dimensions of 100 x 100 x 100 cm (loaded position). Max. height when closed: 185 cm. Standard delivery: 255 kg inclusive 4 lead weights, each 5 kg. Support for a maximum of 48 lead weights. Max. weight incl. all lead weights: 475 kg.

Application:

The Day Grab is highly suitable for taking well-defined samples from hard as well as soft sediments.

Sample volume:

Approx. 30 L of sediment.

Sample area:

2000 cm²

Operational depth:
Full oceanographic depth(no limit).

Wire recommendation:
Ø8 mm stainless steel wire, for deployment.

Camera option:
For a max. depth of 500 m it is possible adding our camera and light option (requires the 12.301 BR bracket).

Lids:
The Day Grab comes with 4 lids; opening the lid(s) allows to take out one or more undisturbed sample to have a look at the stratification of the sediment without releasing the whole sample.

Norwegian ISO standard:
The grab fulfills the Norwegian ISO standard which requires lids with rubber flaps and stainless steel mesh (500 µm) and rubber mats to reduce the shock wave. (16665 Water quality - Guidelines for quantitative sampling and sample processing for of marine soft-bottom macro fauna).

Extra lead weights:
The frame supports up to 48 lead weights, each 5 kg.
Standard delivery comes with 4 pcs lead weights.
